2024-2025 Youth Governors

Early Conference Youth Governor Ethan Ransford

Caro High School

Hello everyone! My name is Ethan Ransford, and I am so excited to serve as this year’s Early Conference Youth Governor. I am a senior from the Caro Delegation, and in my three years in MYIG I have had the privilege to serve in three spring conferences, three fall conferences, DLR, and was a CONA alternate.

I strongly believe that the reason MYIG is as successful as it is comes from the diverse backgrounds and experiences that each and every delegate brings with them. Therefore, my goal as youth governor is to make the conference a place where everyone feels comfortable to share and be themself. As a community, we will be able to accomplish more than any of us could individually.

Outside of YIG, you can find me spending time solving Rubik’s cubes, playing chess, and listening to my celebrity crush, Shakira. I am also involved in a myriad of extracurriculars. I am a three sport athlete, actor in my school’s drama department, member of the envirothon team, academic games member on the math team among other programs.

I am so excited to meet you all and make this the best year of YIG ever. If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, I would like to hear about them or help in any way that I can. You can reach me here on the Youth Governor Contact Form here!

Late Conference Youth Governor Saachi Rajgarhia

Black River High School

Hello everyone! My name is Saachi Rajgarhia, and I am proudly serving as the Youth Governor for this year’s Late Conference. I am a senior at Black River Public School in Holland, MI. This is my fourth year in YIG, and I’ve had the privilege of attending over ten conferences, including four Spring Conferences, a Middle School Conference, two DLRs, CONA, Gov Con, two Fall Conferences, and more.

My love for YIG comes from the program's unique ability to unite young people and give them a platform to advocate for change. As Youth Governor, I am dedicated to focusing on community building within YIG. My goal this year is to bridge the gap between the program areas, ensuring that we foster stronger connections and more effective collaboration. Additionally, I want to focus on connecting the work we do at MYIG back to the real government by meeting with specialists in our fields, mock election procedures, and working outside of our conferences.

Outside of YIG, I love spending time at the beach, drinking coffee, learning math, and hanging out with my friends. My other extracurriculars include leading youth political organizations both locally and statewide, playing the alto saxophone, and tutoring.

I am so excited to meet everyone and make this the best year of YIG. If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, I would love to hear them. You can reach me on the Youth Governor Contact Form here!
