Contemporary Issues Forum
Contemporary Issues Forum is a debate between four to six member teams. Students work with law students as well as members of the legal community.
Debate is a type of formal argumentation in which a team of affirmative debaters answers a formally worded question and a team of negative debaters argue the other side of the question.
2019 Debate Topic
Resolved: The Supreme Court has ruled that video game content is protected under the 1st Amendment as free speech. The court has also ruled that laws shielding minors from some other types of media content are constitutional. Michigan’s Legislature should pass legislation to determine specific definitions of obscene video game content to be restricted from access to minors.
